“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” --Margaret Mead

Green Mountain Green Camp Contest
Everybody coming to the festival can work together to help the festival be gentle on the earth! You can help out by using recycling and reusing barrels, composting food scraps and disposable containers, bringing a reusable water bottle, bringing earth-friendly soap, bringing snacks that use less packaging, carpooling and purchasing carbon credits to offset the rest!

To reward those who participate the most, we will have the Green Mountain Green Camp Contest. Figure out a creative way to set up camp that is earth-friendly and comfortable, and you may be able to win one of several prizes. Prizes include merchandise, earth-friendly products and tickets to future events!

Entrants will be required to document their eco-conscious ways in writing. The contest starts when you leave your house, so be sure to come up with a creative way to get to the show using very little gas, and you may want to purchase carbon credits to offset the rest! Photos (digital or print) help!

2011 Lineup TBA

Green Mountain Eco Festival is a three day celebration of sustainable living featuring music from around the world, green workshops, and camping by the Niangua River in the hills of the Missouri Ozarks! Come enjoy nature with us and learn how to live in harmony with our planet while having a great time and enjoying music by over 20+ artists on two stages.

The Festival will feature lots of fun eco-activities that everybody can participate in. We have invited speakers to get visitors excited about changing the future of our planet and non-profit organizations to show people how they can get involved with a group of committed citizens!

We also will lead by example, making every effort to throw the greenest festival possible. Some of the things that we will do include:

--Biodiesel shuttle buses provided by Green Bus, LLC and Mountain Creek River Resort

--Zero-waste stations with recycling, composting and reusing barrels.

--Vendors will feature environmentally-friendly products. Food vendors have all agreed to use compostable containers or products made out of recycled materials.  Custom Catering even serves their food on corn husks!

--Staging equipment will be run with alternative energy power sources.  In 2009, two of three stages were powered by 100% biodiesel.

--We use eco-friendly cleaning products that are good for your health and the planet's in the showerhouses, restrooms and cabins.

--Flyers are printed on recycled paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council with soy ink and biodegradable UV coating.

--Free water refill stations sponsored by Earthlust will eliminate the need for disposable bottles of water.

--Proceeds will be used to fund Green Mountain Sustainability Center projects that will decrease the carbon footprint of future events and daily life.
